| Lawrence S. Ting, Chairman, CT&D A dynamic business and community leader in Taiwan, Mr. Ting is also very well known in international circles. After graduating summa cum laude from Taiwan's leading military school, he trained to become a US Airborne Ranger. He also attended a two-year special management training program at the Graduate School of Engineering at Columbia University in New York. After distinguished service in the military, Mr. Ting rose to prominence in the plastics industry and eventually became chairman of the Taiwan Plastic Industry Association. In 1982, through Mr. Ting's efforts as vice-chairman of National Olympics Committee, Taiwan rejoined the Olympic movement. Today, in addition to his primary role as chairman of CT&D, Mr. Ting sits on the chair or board of several major organizations including: The Chinese National Federation of Industry and The Chinese Military Academy Alumni Foundation. In Vietnam, Mr Ting's contributions to HCMC and the country have been recognized at the highest levels of government. In 1993, the Ho Chi Minh City's Peoples Committee honored Mr. Ting with an award to thank him for his friendship to the people of Ho Chi Minh City and in October 1997, Prime Minister Khai presented Mr. Ting with an award for his contributions to the country's economic development. Ferdinand P. Tsien, Vice Chairman, CT&D Twenty-two years of success in the U.S. has provided Mr. Tsien with a wealth of international contacts for his position of Vice Chairman of CT&D. After graduating from the University of Shanghai, he received his MBA from the University of Southern California and then further studied Economics and Business at Columbia University. After working 10 years for Photocircuits Inc. in New York, he became a founding partner of Maine Research Corporation in 1996. In 1971 Mr. Tsien moved to Taiwan to become the CEO of Leader Textile, Ltd., a major manufacturer of worsted and woolen fabrics. During this time he also served as a director of Swire Trading of Taiwan Ltd., a trading firm headquartered in Hong Kong. After twelve years
Mr. Tsien left Leader Texile to form Cannon Taiwan Ltd., a distributor
of Volvo cars, trucks and buses in Taiwan. Later he served on the board
of several multi-national companies, including Goodyear Tires-Taiwan,
Ltd. His business activities also included the agencies in Taiwan for
American Airlines, Qantas Airlines and British Airways.
