CT&D
OFFERS QUIET RESPITE TO CITY LIFE
Frances
Ba, President of Phu My Hung Corporation talks to Do Huy about
the development of the Saigon South urban expansion zone in
Ho Chi Minh City.
Q.: How do you evaluate the development of
your companys business since it started its first project
in Vietnam?
CT&D Group began doing business in Vietnam in 1989. The
company has constantly pursued its long term objectives and
has won the authorities support by holding on to its
commitments. CT&D continued on its projects even with
the slowdown in foreign investment that started in 1997. With
an 80 per cent occupancy Tan Thuan Export Processing Zones
success is self-explanatory.
Phu My Hungs City Centre in Saigon South already offers
the best livable environment in Ho Chi Minh City. The positive
attitude and support to our project from authorities certainly
played and continues to play an important role to the projects
successes. The citys efforts to improve transport infrastructure
regarding Saigon South is an illustration of such support.
Q.: What are the strong points and advantages of the Saigon
South project to attract tenants, both foreign and domestic?
Saigon South is a planned urban zone that responds to Ho Chi
Minh Citys need for expansion. Besides having a comprehensive
master plan for its development, Phu My Hung provides the
best infrastructure tenants can hope for in Vietnam, not to
forget the reliable power supply from Hiep Phuoc power plant.
There is abundance of schools catering to Vietnamese and foreign
tenants and entertainment choices like golf, tennis, roller-skating.
We even just started a swimming pool and there will soon be
international standard healthcare facilities.
This means in the New City Centre, tenants have the best possible
place to live in Vietnam, just a minutes drive from District
1. Access will further be improved with the new road and bridges
from District 1 to be open to traffic in May 2002.
Q.: What are your major development plans in the coming years?
Talks with potential investors for an exhibition center, office
buildings, hotel, cinema complex, supermarket, gas station,
high quality restaurants have been initiated. We want to create
the best and the most convenient living environment in Ho
Chi Minh City.
