  • July 1998 - P.M. Phan Van Khai endorsed the new master plan of HCMC with Saigon South designated as the commercial, financial and service center of HCM City.

  • December 1997 - P.M. Phan Van Khai awarded a Certificate of Merit to Phu My Hung Corporation for the successful construction of the Saigon South Parkway and the Corporation's contribution to the socioeconomic development of the city and country.

  • April 1997 - Nha Be County was annexed by HCM City's District 7 to become the New City Center of Saigon South.

  • May 1997 - The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Honor Award for Best Urban Design; the first Asian city ever to receive this award.

  • December 1996 - The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) (Vietnam Business Report, 3rd quarter 1996) said that Saigon South's "deep pockets and skilled managers" allows the project to "push the envelope in development . . . Saigon South is an odds-on favorite to succeed."

  • July 1996 - Cover story of Aquapolis, a leading Italian architecture magazine.

  • April 1996 - Cover story of Kien Truc, a Vietnamese professional architecture magazine.

  • January 1995 - The 42nd Annual American Progressive Architecture Citation.
